A penalty is counted per race, not per skater: this is how often the referee intervenes, not who it happens to. PEN, plus DQ before the 2011/12 season — which is what a penalty was called then — plus yellow and red cards. Relays are counted with everything else, because a relay penalty is a penalty; it belongs to the nation rather than to the skater who took the leg, which is why it is on this board and not on the per-skater one. Split the two apart with the race filter to read their rates against each other. Only races already built into the archive count, so a season fills in as the mirror reaches it. every race built into the archive, counted once each · a race counts as penalised when anyone in it was sanctioned, and the penalty column counts the sanctions themselves

Who takes them: the penalty counter, per skater · where in a competition they fall: penalties by round · what the codes mean: penalties explained
